It has been announced that the date for the 2014 edition of the Eifel Rallye Festival will be July 24th/26th.
In 2013, more than 40,000 fans came from all parts of Europe to watch one hundred and fifty historic rally cars tackle two days of classic stages just south of the Nürburgring and at the same time celebrate the fortieth birthday of the World Rally Championship. The Eifel Rally Festival is not, however, a competition since the cars and crews drive the stages untimed merely to demonstrate the sights and sounds of rallying as it was in years past.

This DVD of the 2013 Eifel Rallye Festival comes back on the event with action videos, as well as presentations of famous cars, great onboard footages, and captivating interviews with the stars of rallying like Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist and Björn Waldegård.

The special exhibition of Automotive Tradition, the “Bosch Fotogruppe” and the “Bosch Oldtimerschraubern” at the Bosch headquarters in Stuttgart is coming to an end and will soon move to Abstatt. The theme of the exhibition is the connection between emotions and Bosch recreational activities.

The organizers of the Eifel Rallye Festival are pleased to announce that the Eifel Rallye Festival in 2014 will be continued.

The winners of th spectator voting 2013 have been found. The organising team of the Eifel Rallye Festival would like to thank all participants in this spectator voting and we send our congratulations to the winners. We look forward to welcoming you back next year and wish you a lot of fun with the prizes.

729 pictures taken by 192 photographers from ten different countries, the photographic competition held in conjunction with the 2013 Eifel Rallye Festival was once again a huge success. But it was not just the quantity of entries that enthused the head judge of the competition, famous rally photographer Reinhard Klein, but also the quality and variety of the pictures submitted. "The fans have captured the action and the spirit of the Eifel Rallye Festival on really brilliant photographs. I am especially impressed how good the pictures of the 'amateur' photographs that do not have a press ticket are. In the end, we had selected around 15 images which were all good enough for a trophy. Thus it was really hard to pick the very best ones. And since there were so many great 'photoshopped' images, we decided to creat another prize for the best 'photo art' picture."

Good weather combined with an entry of over 160 cars and a dozen star drivers from all over Europe saw the attendance levels at the Eifel Rallye Festival soar well above the 40,000 mark attained in 2012.

For all those involved, it was good to see that everyone from spectators and car owners to organisers and sponsors fully enjoyed the event. Typical comments were:

Peter Schlömer, chief organizer: “Our new shakedown location was a huge success. One of the participants even said that this special stage, ‘Mantaloch’, came up to WRC standard. And we also had more spectators there than ever before on a Thursday as there were over 6,000 people present. The innovation of a long midday break on Saturday also gave the fans enough time to visit the Rally Mile in Daun and talk to drivers and get autographs.”

Spectators of the Eifel Rallye Festival could vote for the greatest car of the event on the basis of stars. All in all, nearly 10,000 stars were “collected” by the 160+ historic rally cars during the last few days and there was a real “shower of stars” for the winning car, the Triumph TR7 V8 of Rob de Vos/Marcel Benning taking part with start number 103 with its unique eight-cylinder sound. Second place went to the exotic Safari-style Volvo PV544 driven by Ralf Kleinemenke/Hans-Bernd Böing (#17) while third place was taken by the beautiful Lancia Stratos of Claus Aulenbacher and Andreas Mirow (#76) in the legendary Alitalia colours.

After last year's great success, the Eifel Rallye Festival will once again host a photographic competition in which prizes will be awarded to the best pictures of the event. And there is a very exclusive prize for the winner: a co-drive on the 2014 Eifel Rallye Festival! The well-known and renowned WRC photographer, Reinhard Klein, will himself choose his favourite pictures from those submitted. This year, all entries will go into one category, there will be no division between "professionals" and "amateurs". But there will once again be a spezial prize for the most inventive image. The winning pictures as well as all the other pictures will be shown in a web gallery on the Eifel Rallye Festival website and will of course feature their photographers' names.

Fans visiting the Eifel Rallye Festival should not only bring a heat and sunscreen to Daun but also a long lasting Edding pen. On the Rallywebshop autograph session on Friday morning, 10 to 12 am, on the Laurentiusplatz in the centre of Daun there will be no less than 17 VIP drivers on the show stage. Spectators can get autographs from:

Walter Röhrl, Björn Waldegård, Stig Blomqvist, Harald Demuth, Yves Loubet, Philippe Gache, Harri Toivonen, Robert Droogmans, Susanne Kottulinsky, Simo Lampinen, Piero Sodano, John Davenport, Niki Schelle, Matthias Kahle, Egon Culmbacher, Werner Ernst und Marc Duez.

The drivers and co-drivers of the three greatest cars taking part in the Eifel Rallye Festival can really look forward to the prize giving on Saturday night. They will receive one of these beautiful trophies on the show stage which, as you can see, also take up this year's theme "40 years of the WRC".

With some last minute additions, the list of famous drivers coming to take part in the Eifel Rallye Festival on the last weekend of July has now grown to fourteen. Amongst them are three ex-World Rally Champions since one of the last names to be added is that of Stig Blomqvist, World Champion with Audi in 1984. He joins fellow World Champions, Walter Röhrl (1980 and 1982) and Björn Waldegård (1979). Another late arrival is Marc Duez who is as well known for his racing activities - he won the Nürburgring 24-Hour race four times and competed at Le Mans 24-Hour no less than twelve times - as for his rallying successes in both World and European championship rallies.

The 2013 Eifel Rallye Festival will be a true paradies for all autograph hunters. During the official autograph session there will be no less than 17 famous drivers waiting for you. These include the 14 star drivers heading the field plus the three co-drivers Piero Sodano, John Davenport and Werner Ernst. The autograph session will take place on Friday morning from 10.00 to 12.00 on the show stage (Laurentiusplatz, Daun).

A passionate model car collector from Germany has already photographed what we can expect on the last weekend of July. His picture shows all championship-winning cars present on the Eifel Rallye Festival in a scale of 1:43. As one can see, the theme "40 years of the WRC" is not taken too strictly for this champions parade which also includes all makes champions from the pre-WRC era. 1968 and 1969 were the very first years when international makes champions were crowned in the European Rally Championship.
