ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival from August 15th to 17th, 2024

  • An opportunity in the Volcanic Eifel to travel in time through the history of rallying.
  • Worldwide 'class reunion' of the rally scene – drivers, fans, team managers, etc.
  • Especially for the Festival, Daun is changing the date of its annual city fair.

The twelfth edition of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival will take place in the Volcanic Eifel from August 15th to 17th, 2024. More than one hundred and sixty original or faithfully rebuilt cars from the history of rallying with their owners will once again transform Daun and the surrounding area into the largest rolling rally museum. Up to forty thousand fans will follow the 'thunder' as the vehicles are driven over the challenging asphalt stages. "More and more people are taking the history of rallying seriously and discovering that you can simply have fun together at our Festival while bridging all country and language borders. We want to offer the right platform for this to happen again," Reinhard Klein (Cologne), as the head of Slowly Sideways, voices the organiser's intention. "We have already been able to present unique gems from the history of rallying. But there are many more of these yet to be discovered - and we are working on bringing them to the Eifel."

"For various reasons, we had to change the date of our 2024 Festival to August for the first time. In order to make our chosen date of the 15th - 17th at all possible, the city of Daun has brought forward its annual city fair held in the Laurentiusplatz, the area that is the centre of the Rallye Festival" said organisation manager Otmar Anschütz from the organising MSC Daun. “We are extremely grateful to the city leadership. When we approached them, we immediately found open minds for our considerations. In no time at all, the city managed to rebook all the existing contracts for their fair, for example with the showmen and the bands, to a new date running from August 3rd to 7th." Anschütz adds, "But this support in changing our date also shows how much our Festival has caught on in the region."

The by-now-traditional concept will be retained. The Festival will start on Thursday with a route inspection followed by the shakedown and then ends on Saturday with the award ceremony and rally party. That is after about one hundred and twenty special stage kilometres on the demanding asphalt roads of the Volcanic Eifel. And in between, the Rally Mile in the centre of Daun is always tempting. Here, the vehicles will be serviced between their runs on the special stages and can be examined at close range, while the drivers will be available for talks and the stars for autographs.

Eifel Rally Festival 2011-2022 – The definitive book.
The official book about the first ten editions of the Eifel Rally Festival is not just a simple chronicle. With the stars of the scene from the past and present and with the most beautiful original cars and replicas from rally history, it is, so to speak, a Who's Who of the sport. Within its pages are the highlights from ten years of the Festival with cars that are normally never seen outside museums, such as the Group S Audi, the rebuilt Safari Stratos and exotics ranging from the Jidé to the Clan Crusader. There is a unique cross-section of rally history with the older classics from Mini and Volvo PV544 to Group 4 legends like the Stratos and the Ascona 400, not forgetting the amazing Group B monsters, the stars of Group A from Lancia to Subaru as well as the spectacular World Rally Cars. The bilingual texts (German and English) and the many photos in the 300-page work are completed by numerous tables and lists of starters and cars from the ten years. The foreword is written by long-time patron Walter Röhrl in which he recalls his own impressions of the Festival. Here is the order link at the RallyWebShop:
