ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival: The reigning World Rally Champion is to be our patron

  • Thierry Neuville will be a guest in Daun again.
  • Great honour for ERF organisational manager Otmar Anschütz.
  • Programme booklets and tickets can be ordered immediately.

Fans of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival (July 24th to 26th 2025) can look forward to an additional highlight. Reigning 2024 World Rally Champion Thierry Neuville will once again come to the Vulkaneifel region around Daun and take over the patronage of the largest rolling rally museum. This is what Neuville says about his reasons for taking on this role: “I was very pleased to be able to take on the patronage of this very special event. I have already attended the Eifel Rallye Festival as a fan as well as driving in it myself. In Daun, you only meet people who are interested in our sport and its history. Due to the lack of timekeeping on the demonstration stages, the entire event is completely stress-free – everyone  is just there for the joy of rallying.” His two brothers, Yannik Neuville and Tom Heindrichs, will also be in Daun again.
Meanwhile, the VIP lounge is filling up. In addition to Neuville’s World Championship colleague, Stig Blomqvist, Kalle Grundel will also be coming to Daun again. Bruno Thiry [European Rally Champion 2003], John Buffum [quadruple US rally champion] and Rauno Aaltonen [European Rally Champion 1965] have already confirmed their attendance, as has the two-time German rally champion, Ruben Zeltner, plus Danish champion Kim Boisen and TV star Niki Schelle. At least two Lancia Delta S4s will be among the cars appearing as Bruno ‘Rocket’ Ianniello [with co-driver Thomas Fuchs] and his Swiss compatriot Rolf Wyss will bring those two Group B cars to the Eifel.

Significant honour for ERF organisational manager Otmar Anschütz
For his extraordinary commitment as a volunteer, Otmar Anschütz, chairman of MSC Daun and organisational manager of the Eifel Rallye Festival, was recently awarded the City of Daun's Plate of Honour. At a formal ceremony, Anschütz was honoured by the city's mayor Friedhelm Mader for his many years of personal commitment to Daun. Mader emphasised that Anschütz had rendered outstanding services to the City of Daun and its associations. He also highlighted the importance of the Eifel Rallye Festival for the town of Daun and the entire region. As an example, the mayor mentioned the considerable amount of donations made by the Festival to support the victims of the recent flood disaster in the region. “Personal honours are not normally my thing,” said Anschütz, “But nevertheless I was pleased. At the same time, it's also clear that you can only be as good as the team behind you. We are only strong together!”

Advance sale of programme booklets and tickets is now open.
