Carlos Pinho ist ein portugiesischer Sammler von Rallyefahrzeugen und kaufte diesen Escort im Jahr 2020 in Österreich. Die Basis des Autos war ein Gruppe N Ford von M-Sport. Pinho restaurierte das Auto in seiner eigenen Werkstatt und rüstete es auf Gruppe A auf. Er nimmt damit an historischen Rallyes teil und wählte das Eifel Rallye Festival für seine erste Teilnahme außerhalb Portugals.

1996 wurde Carlos Sainz von Ford unter Vertrag genommen und fuhr in jenem Jahr den Escort RS Cosworth im Repsol-Look. Er gewann die Rallye Indonesien und wurde am Ende der Saison Dritter in der Weltmeisterschaft hinter Tommi Mäkinen und Colin McRae.

Pinho restored the car in his own workshop and did the upgrade to Group A. He is competing in historic rallies with it and choose the Eifel Rally Festival for is first participation outside of Portugal.

In 1996 Carlos Sainz was contracted to Ford and drove the Escort RS Cosworth in Repsol livery throughout that year. He won the Indonesia Rally and was at the end of the season third in the World Championship behind Tommi Mäkinen and Colin McRae.
