Pressemitteilung 2027-01

ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival vom 22. bis 24. Juli 2027

Press release 2027-01

ADAC Eifel Rally Festival from July 22nd to 24th, 2027

  • Living rally history spanning a period of over sixty years
  • Over one hundred and fifty original or faithfully replicated rally cars
  • Thursday will once again be ‘Daun-Town-Day’ with a Welcome Evening

Participants and fans of historic rallying from around the world will be wanting to mark this date in their diaries. The fifteenth edition of the ADAC Eifel Rally Festival will take place from July 22nd to 24th, 2027 in Daun and the surrounding Vulkaneifel region. Once again, the region will be transformed into a rolling rally museum, featuring over one hundred and fifty original or faithfully restored rally cars spanning more than sixty years of this fascinating sport’s history. As well as the exhibitions along the Rally Mile in the centre of Daun, fans will also be able to admire the cars in action on the demonstration stages where they will provide both a visual and auditory treat. As always, the cars are the stars, for where else in the World can you see such a large number of these rally machines in the flesh, when most of them can otherwise only be admired in museums? More and more of their original drivers are also drawn to Daun during the Festival weekend where, over the years, an international gathering of the rally scene has now developed.

“The quality of the cars is improving with every edition of the Festival that we hold. Step by step, we are continuing on a path to create a platform to showcase the history of rallying,” says Reinhard Klein, looking forward to what is now the fifteenth edition of the Festival. As a world-renowned rally photographer, McKlein has photographs of almost every car in rallying history and is thus able to advise owners on the restoration and presentation of their cars. Furthermore, as head of ‘Slowly Sideways’, the Europe-wide association of owners of historic rally cars, he is responsible for putting together the entry-list and whittling it down to the limited number that the Festival can accommodate. “We intend to continue consistently along this path in the future. I, too, find it fascinating to see the unique gems from the history of rallying that we have already been able to showcase here. But there is still much more to discover – and that is what we are working on.”

Planning for the Festival is already well-advanced, and the first key points have been decided. “Daun-Town-Day on Thursday has more than established itself. Fans enjoy being able to be present at the public technical scrutineering as well as later to watch and take part in vehicle presentations, the autograph session and the legendary Welcome Evening with open-air cinema in the Rally Mile in Daun,” explains Otmar Anschütz, head of organisation for the major event and chairman of the organising club, MSC Daun. “For the Friday and Saturday stages, we’re focusing on retaining what has worked well in the past, whilst also offering new features for the owners and fans. They are certainly bound to find a few surprises,” adds Anschütz.
